| | This is a much delayed post. Wanted to blog this since last Sunday but was too tired and lazy to do it.
Eileen's Birthday Dinner @ MV
Got a call from Fannie when I was at work. Asked me whether I'm free to have a birthday dinner for Eileen or not. I was so tired at that time, tempted to say no. But oh well, Eileen has been one of my closest friend from my time in Adelaide. So I said yes and few hours later I was at the huge shopping mall. Three of us walked around the mall checking out all the eateries, almost ended up in a Japanese restaurant on the LG. And then I suggested the Little Vietnam restaurant, next to the GSC cinemas. Both of them were ok with it so up we went.
After checking the lit-up menu at the entrance for a minute or two, we finally made up our mind and walked in, greeted by few friendly staffs. The interior deco and design are pretty nice, although it doesn't really gives me a Vietnam-ly feel (but hey, I never been to Vietnam myself so don't take my words for it).

  * The interior look of Little Vietnam. Nice ambience, and being able to watch people outside walking past is enjoyable too (at least for me).
They have a vast selections of food, so choosing what to eat might take a while. But their pictorial menu is pretty helpful, besides being colourful as well. After some difficult decision making, Eileen ordered a broken rice dish (forgot the name! ), Fannie ordered the Beef Soup Noodle while I ordered Beef Spicy Soup Noodle. For drink, Eileen ordered the 'Three Colour Ice" thingy, I got myself a boring ice lemon tea while Fannie ordered the RM2.50 Iced Chinese Tea (bottomless, a good deal).

  * Clockwise from top left: 1.The broken rice dish, nice fine rice with some sweet minced meat on top. 2.Fannie's Beef Soup Noodle; Vietnamese famous 'pho', with beef internal organs 3. Beef Spicy Soup Noodle, very spicy but not too spicy till you can't enjoy. Not for faint-hearted. 4. A closer look at the Beef Spicy Soup Noodle. I consider this a complete meal because of the beef, beef balls, beef tripe and the plate of fresh sweet basil, mint and beansprouts you can tip into the soup, with lime squeezed into it as well.

After the satisfying meal, it's time to do what we were there to do. Celebrating Eileen's birthday! We bought her 3 little cakes (we wanna eat too that's why ), and we let her choose her favourite. We sang her the birthday song, albeit a soft and mumbled one. But we didn't eat the cake there, since we were so dead full! We spent a grand total of RM56 for three person. Not cheap definitely, but then again, you can't really find good quality but cheap Vietnamese food in KL can you? Try it and let me know what you think k? Bon appetite!
