Once again its Friday, and once again its our weekly food expedition...away from the food-deprived hamlet of Damansara Heights. Today, we went to Bangsar Village to try the Basil Thai Nudle Bar...specializing in Thai food. Since Thailand has been in the news so much lately because of the military coup (no, I don't think it's justified), I thought it would be wonderful to go Thai today! (no offence my Thai readers, although I doubt any Thai would be reading this).

The nudle bar looks nice from outside, and once we got in, we found out that it's cozy inside as well.
Even the street outside looks nice from inside as well
* Look at how those inconsiderate drivers park their cars along the narrow roads. Grrr... They have quite an impressive selections of ala-carte meal, and the price is pretty reasonable too for a upclass place like Basil.
Now, the pictures of the food that we've chose:
* First up is the Tom Yam Seafood Soup (RM18.90 for 2 person). Looks very promising, but we thought its too sourish and not spicy enough. Quite disappointed..sigh....
* Sue's Pineapple Fried Rice (RM11.90). Didn't get to taste it, but according to Sue its quite nice. Very well decorated too.
* Rachel's Stir-Fried Spaghetti With Hot Basil Leaves (RM12.90). Have a unique taste to it, with a slight spicy feel as well. I would rate it at 7/10.
* My very own Stir-Fried Keoy Teow with Thai Sauce (RM12.90). Nothing special, just like those Thai styled noodle you can find elsewhere. But it did comes with a generous amount of shrimps. Don't think the sauce really goes along well with the fried keoy teow though.
* Kevin's Hot & Spicy Minced Chicken Noodle Soup (RM12.90). Once again, its just not spicy enough. Nothing to shout about, IMHO the Spicy Beef Noodle at Vietnam Kitchen is much much better. As usual, with Rachel around, how can you not do some posing for the camera eh?
* The Siamese non-identical twins (RM12.90 for both)
* The posing Thais. And the result of overdosing yourself with Tom Yam!
* In the spirit of everything Thai, here we are looking Thai and greeting you with SAWADEEKAP! Overall, pretty satisfied with today's food expedition. Food might be just above average, but the ambience is good, service is excellent and the price is reasonable. Will come back again I think. Go try it yourself and let me know how you rate 'em.
