| | Drove past Aunty Nat at Mid Valley City for gazillion times, but never check it out as it gave me an impression that the food there would be overpriced. That is why I was quite reluctant when Lena Ban suggested us to go to their Sri Hartamas branch for a last lunch with Fannie before she goes to Singapore for good. 
Located at the much quieter section of Sri Hartamas, I have to admit I have never ventured into this part before. Quieter it is, but that doesn't mean that parking is no longer a problem. While it is not as bad as Desa Sri Hartamas, it still took us a good 5 minutes to find one, and it wasn't even a proper parking slot.
The interior of the Nyonya restaurant certainly got my vote. Rustic but classy, most of the dining furnitures are wooden, and black and white photos decorate the white wall. And with a mini waterfall, the overall ambience of comfort and relaxation. Would appeal especially to corporate slaves like me. 
All the ala-carte mains here are called as Quick Meals, and it ranges from fried rice to soup meehoon. And to my surprise, most if not all of the Quick Meals cost RM8.00 only. Definitely reasonable considering the location, quality and the substantial portion of the dishes here. The Sambal Belacan Fried Rice with Beef (or Chicken) is one good example. While I am not exactly sure how Nyonya this fried rice is, it certainly tasted very good. No soggy rice, generous amount of meat, and one kick-arse sambal belacan to eat with.
The Sweet & Sour Chicken with Rice (RM8.00++) was a disappointment. While not exactly a bad one, it tasted very ordinary and I thought the chicken meat itself was a tad too tough to chew.
The noodles I've tried here were all delectables as well. The Stir Fried Kuay Teow (RM8.00++) was slightly spicy, and a bit wet, the way I love it.
While the name of Shredded Veg & Meat Noodle (RM8.00++) would not exactly make me jump up in excitement, it turned out to be an absolute winner too. The thin noodle used felt very springy, and full of flavours without the starchy taste.
There are a lot of appetizers and side dishes available, and most are priced around RM8-RM12. As most of our dishes came with some chicken meat already, we ordered two sotong dishes as side instead. When we asked the captain (or owner maybe?), she suggested Crispy Fried Sotong (RM12.00++) to us. A good recommendation it was indeed, as the sotong was true to its name, very crispy and the aroma was irresistable. A perfect side dish to go along with our mains.
Yet another gem would be their Spicy Stir-Fried Sotong (RM12.00++). This one comes with spicy gravy, together with onions and red chilli peppers. Would have been great eating it with rice I am sure.
With all those heaty and spicy food, it is best eating them with iced cooling drinks. Such as the Iced Cincau (RM2.50++) and the bottomless Iced Chinese Tea (RM2.00++), that comes in a small Tiger Beer glass (ops, I hope I was not seen drinking it by my passing church members!  ).
I am a big sucker of Cendol, so when I saw it is available on the menu I ordered it without any second thought. Priced at RM4.50, it came with alot of short fat strands of cendol and big red beans. And with the right amount of gula melaka (palm sugar), it was a heavenly dessert to have especially on a hot sunny afternoon.
Overall I must say I am very impressed by this restaurant, not only by its delicious food and reasonable prices, but also by its wonderful ambience and attentive service. I am absolutely delighted to add yet another fine eatery into my lunch list, as this place is considerably near to my office. Without a doubt I would definitely come back to try their other delights.
